I met Merry Mary (alliteration! fun!) of Blue Planet Creation at Dayton’s Handmade Holiday 2012 in person and she was just crocheting away. Just carrying on a conversation, standing AND crocheting. Now me…I’m sitting on the floor, barely able to go a handful of stitches without forgetting and having to start back over with my counting. But Mary? I think she could even chew gum while she crocheted!
Soft, wonderful, warm…and with a dash of Indie thrown in for cool measure.
I received a pair of her Fingerless Gloves for review and not only are they beautiful, warm and cozy but they’re also therapeutic. They’ve made my hands feel better while I’m working at the computer since they’re warmer. I’d like to say while crocheting but lets be realistic! 
The colors are fun and the yarn is safe to use with anything and everything. I took mine with me when we got our tree and it was nice! Normally I don’t wear gloves as I can’t stand to have my fingers covered and as a result my hands freeze to death. But this year they were warm and I didn’t feel as if someone had removed one of my senses.
They’re great for everyone; mommas, bloggers, and teens. My Middle and niece loved these and were constantly begging me for them. I was a selfish momma and aunt and refused. The little buggars can get their own! But there is someone I think would REALLY benefit from them….anyone who plays a woodwind instrument. Yup…woodwind players especially need these if they’re in the band.
I played the clarinet from 3rd grade all the way through into college. I can remember setting in band class and freezing. What is it about band rooms and freezing you? Does warmth effect sound quality?! With woodwinds you need a good seal on the holes so you need naked fingers. If I’d had these then I could have kept my hands warm. Och! Marching Band…grrr. Everyone else could wear warm gloves under their “band gloves” but us…we had to cut the fingers off so no extra layer. BUT!! If I’d had a set of these I would have been so much more comfortable during practices on and off the field and perhaps even at competitions if they were made in white.
I love mine! Oh…and they’re washable too. I spilled some cocoa and simply washed them with a drop of Dr. Bronner’s, rinsed and laid flat to dry. They are also amazingly diverse size wise. I have big, kneed the dough or massage the kinks out of your back hands…they’re not delicate in the least. My middle has artist hands..long skinny fingers, beautiful shaped hands. Both of us can wear these so I think you’ll be good no matter what size you are.
